Tyler Boone is a musician from Charleston. He started at USC, and now goes to CofC as an Arts Management major. His style is laid back, but still engaging. Check it out!

From his Bandcamp:

“Working with producer MJ Fick has been life changing for me. Co-writing and writing for 7 months on one record with 11 different musicians was such an honor. I sure hope you enjoy this record as much as I do.”

Garnet Report caught up with him to ask a few questions:

How would you describe your style?

My style is a little different from most. It is a blend of a 3 way marriage between rock, blues and pop music. Being a guitarist first before a singer/songwriter, the blues is a huge influence on me and what music we portray either through a record or at a live event.

Which albums influenced you the most?

  • Continium – John Mayer
  • Couldn’t Stand the Weather – Stevie Ray Vaughn
  • Live On – Kenny Wayne Shepherd
  • Doyle Bramhall II & Smokestack – Doyle Brahmahll II
  • Try – John Mayer Trio
  • Any Hendrix record…

Who do you like less – Lady Gaga or Ke$ha?

There is no room in my brain for any of the mess….sorry haha! But Kesha can be nice to look at.

If Cocky was in your band, what instrument would you have him play?

I’d have him in a “pvc pipe” cage up in front, just going crazy as we jam out to “sandstorm!”

You can check out his music at Bandcamp, there’s a free download of the EP “A New Start” available too.
