It’s that time of year again- football season. Our days consist of tailgating, our disdain for Clemson is rekindled, and the trending topic among the female student population is “#GameDayDresses.” Finding the perfect game day outfit has become a necessity and since we’re readjusting to life without the income of a full time summer job, we’re not looking to break-the-bank. I have compiled a small list of the necessities for dressing stylishly, easily, and affordably.
The Perfect Dress
The main formula for this year’s game day dress is paring simple dresses with large accent jewelry. Our first dress (top left) is black with lace siding. The longer tail of the dress give the allusion of mile-long legs and the black coloring is a slimming look on everyone. This dress is from asos.com for only $35.00.
Our second dress (right) is a cotton maxi dress. If you have never worn a maxi dress before, let me be the first to tell you that it might be the most comfortable thing you will ever wear! You get the comfort of a skirt without having to shave your legs. What could be better? This garnet beauty can be found at Gap.com for $24.00.
Our next dress (left) is another maxi dress. I adore the one shoulder and gathered style. The band around the middle accentuates your waist, giving the most flattering look possible. This dress can be purchased on JCrew.com for only $30.00. Out last and final dress (right) is my personal favorite. The dress is a spirited garnet with pink accents that add a touch of spice. Found on Piperlime.com for $30.00, this dress could most definately rock the tailgates, yet could also be worn to other functions.
Accessorize! Accessorize! Accessorize!
Necklaces are the inexpensive and easy way to make an outfit fun. This season’s jewelry seems to be the bigger, the better- a trend that I am more than happy to yield to. Our first necklace (top left) is a bubble necklace. I would pair this piece off with the garnet Gap dress. It’s the perfect mixture of garnet and black and can be found at Hand Picked online or in stores for $18.00.
The next piece has both garnet and black in it. Its large stone pieces are uneven and playful.I would pair this piece with our J Crew maxi dress to give it a sophisticated but comfortable look. This necklace can be found in stores at Hand Picked for $18.00.
The third necklace (bottom left) is similar to the J Crew bubble necklace but smaller. It hangs much higher than the large bubble necklace and therefore looks best with a lower neckline. I would pair this piece with the trendy all black ASOS dress. The uniqueness of these two pieces compliment each other. This necklace can also be found at Hand Picked for $18.00.
Our last and final necklace (bottom right) is a cute, black flowered necklace. Found at Forever 21 or Forever21.com, it could be paired with our pink and garnet Piperlime dress to bring out a playful look.
