The Break Up Blue Jeans

We’ve all experienced it at one point in our lives. After a break up, that dreaded first encounter happens. Our lives were absolutely going to end due to the break up, and now we have to run into that person again! So here are a few tips for when you “accidently” see that ex. All he’ll be thinking is “how did she ever get away?”

First: Put the Ben and Jerry’s down!

These boys are not your friends. Shoveling large quantities of Half Baked down your throat is not doing anything for you. Instead of wallowing in self-pity every Thursday night (when you would have been on date) go work out. Also, make a work out regiment. It doesn’t have to be anything hard, just fifteen minutes every morning and night can do the trick. Pinterest is perfect for helping you find these workouts. Simply pick the part of your body you want to focus on, and it shows you what exercises will help!

One of my favorite things to do during “Post Break Up Work Outs” is listen to some girl Rock ‘N Roll. The Kills, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Dead Weather, and Metric are just a few to name. And since girls are made of sugar, spice, and everything nice, girl Rock ‘N Roll seems to be more effective in pushing ladies into angry workouts. The next time your ex sees you, you won’t be rocking the Ben and Jerry’s baby weight. Instead, you’ll look better than ever.

Second: Jeans

Now your next goal is to step away from the oversized sorority T, and put on something that doesn’t ruin your chances of having any woman shapeliness. Skinny jeans are a must. If you have been working out, your skinny jeans are going to be looking better than usual on you. Do not miss this chance. Seize the day! Also, a pair of heels never hurt anyone, unless you’re this girl

Put on clothing that makes you feel confident. After wearing those irresistible skinny jeans and heels, try not to play Single Ladies on replay in your head. Bet you can’t do it.

Third: Travel in Numbers

Surround yourself with friends that actually care about you. The kind of friends that prevent you from doing something you will regret. Surrounding yourself with good company helps to keep your mind off your ex, and you’ll have a good time, like you should be doing anyways.

Do NOT avoid going somewhere due to an ex. And do NOT specifically go anywhere your ex will be, even if you are “lookin’ good” (no one can rock the stalker look.) Go out and have fun. If you happen to run into your ex, resist any temptation to get back together, no matter how much they beg because you will look great. They missed their chance. And no one likes that guy that keeps breaking up and getting back together, no one.

Having just gotten out of a bad relationship and now a “Single Lady” again, I will say that this saved my life.
I’ve been spending less time with Yankee Candle and more time with Frank and Randall, yes that’s right, I’ve taken up NASCAR as my hobby to keep my mind off the ex (a former semi-professional tennis player, you couldn’t cut his calf muscles with a diamond).
Thank you, fellow diva for inspring me to less “Wah’s” at home, and more AWE and SOME.
    Sincerely,
