It’s back! The dearly beloved, belly achingly funny, almost too many seasons but we’re all okay with it television show, How I Met Your Mother. If you’re not an avid HIMYM watcher, than you should check your pulse and double check you’re alive. Then you should splurge $8.99 to get a Netflix account (or just steal someone’s password you know) and catch up. The anticipation has been growing with this season’s premier. But don’t worry…. this article does not contain any spoilers if you missed last night’s premier. So here is a brief run down of the HIMYM characters and their personal styles.

Ted Mosby:

Ted is the main character of HIMYM. He, along with the rest of the characters, is in his late twenties to early thirties throughout the span of the show and resides in New York City. The show is him telling his kids the story of how he met their mother. Ted’s style, or lack thereof, is pretty expected of any man his age. He usually sports the average styled men’s jeans and a graphic T-shirt of some sort. During his teaching career, Ted wears a lot of corduroy blazers he considers “lady killers,” but I would beg to differ. Ted’s style is not terrible but would never cause me to turn my head if I passed him on the street.

Marshall Eriksen:

Marshall has known Ted since they were roommates in college. He’s abnormally tall but teddy bear cuddly. Marshall’s style is pretty similar to Ted’s and leaves me almost indifferent. For their time, age, and location it is appropriate but nothing exciting.

Lily Aldrin:

Lily has been in a relationship with Marshall since they met in college. They are happily married on the show and are the epitome of “college sweethearts.” From a previous show, we find out Lily is a compulsive shopper. She is always well dressed but appropriately for her position as an elementary school teacher. The problem is her shopping has lead to a major credit card crisis. Looking good is important, but not so important as to leave you in dept. Lily is never caught wearing the same outfit, and she is always well put together and accessorized. But looking good should never hurt, physically or financially.

Robyn Scherbatsky:

Robyn is one of Ted’s ex girlfriend’s that stuck around after the break up. She is a news anchor and Lily’s best friend. A Canadian native, Robyn was a teen pop star in her early life. Her style is moderately good but sometimes a little Canadian, incomprehensible, ay? When needed to, she can dress up and rock the streets, but also enjoys the occasional jeans and a T-shirt.

Barney Stinson:

Barney is the epitome of a womanizer. He is constantly experimenting with pick up lines and notable for his single status, until this season. Barney is known for his catchphrase, “Suit up.” Always dressed in the best tailored, made of the finest Italian material, suits, he scores all the ladies. While his suits are perfect, that’s all he will wear. It’s cool and all, until you go play laser tag in an Italian suit. To sum up Barney’s style it would be, well dressed but sometimes inappropriately for the situation.

I hope you are all as excited about this week’s new episode of How I Met Your Mother as we are, because…
