The USC Gamecocks and Florida Gators open up the College World Series with a rematch of last year. USC expects to start ace Michael Roth on the mound, who is 7-1 this year with a 2.50 ERA.
Lefthander Brian Johnson starts for the Gators. He is 8-4 this year with a 3.56 ERA and did not pitch in the Super Regional last weekend.
The game will air at 9pm Eastern on ESPN, assuming the earlier game is able to start on time and doesn’t go into extra innings. Florida, along with Arkansas, are the other SEC teams in Omaha. All three begin play this afternoon in Bracket 2, which rules out an all-SEC final.
